Subject	Electrical accessory damage on startup DVDBURN help??

Message	so it's been bugging me for awhile now. I have a dashcam hardwired through cig lighter. There are times my Z will crank for awhile before starting, which is another issue. I believe accessory circuits are not regulated like newer cars it is destroying delicate electronics . What can I do to prevent this? I presume this is what happenes to my escort 8500 radar detector also.
